Yep its an English Electric Lightning.
This thread went way off course ! I've not got the dehumidifier yet, only ordered it yesterday and the point I was making is that I just ordered and paid for it and then the cooker went all ballistic on me !! things always go wrong when you haven't got the dosh ............

My most favourite plane the Lighning, I sound like a right nerd !

    Update:

No condensation at all this morning, dry as a bone, and just for the record, all windows were closed ! dehumidifier has not arrived yet but expecting delivery today.

Cooker fixed, thought it was the oven element that I replaced last month, but stripped it down and checked with meter and all good ! turns out it was the cooker outlet socket, took it apart and it was blown to bits in there, cable burnt and melted, replaced cable from cooker isolating switch and new cooker outlet fitted, jobs a good'n ! total cost, £4.70 for outlet, had a spare bit of 4mm cable, 2 hours work and we'll now be eating a cooked meal tonight

    Regards

    2 Thanks given to Lestronics

Mine recently went Pop and it turned out to be the heating element in the oven.

Simple to remove, test with a multi-meter and £6 later I had a replacement part from Amazon which worked superbly.
I did hit one snag.. After replacing the element the oven had power but would not work. The cause.. I had not set the clock!
hehe Have we got the same cooker? mines a Belling and does exactly the same ! sits there with the clock flashing at 12:00 and you have to press a weird combination of the clock buttons to get it to kick in .......
