Default XBOX 360 Elite v Xbox One v Xbox One Elite

    Hi all,

Considering getting back into gaming as my 5 year old son has clearly stated he wants an Xbox 360 - or as I put it a "Box of 6 eggs" just to annoy him.

More than happy to get him a 360 elite, nice an cheap with mine craft to keep him happy, but for me I have a dilemma...

What is the difference exactly between the Xbox One and the Xbox one Elite, apart from the controller.???

    Thanks in advance

    M.A.

The xbox one elite has a hybrid ssd drive which is supposed to help with game load times I think but could be wrong here. Controller is supposed to be a bit more heavier. not used a elite xbox one but would recommend getting a one TB version of xboxone if you are considering going down that route.

So the only difference on the Xbox Ones is the hard drive and the controller...?

I was more concerned about chipset changes / graphics etc.

No different chipsets, you are correct hybrid ssd and controller. Worth noting if you get the elite you could sell the controller. In my opinion it has parts (paddles and thumb sticks) that a 5 year old will have no problem whatsoever destroying (unless you keep that one and get him a regular pad).

It does nothing for game load times e.t.c apparently it is purely for OS boot and use of the OS that is 20% faster according to MS.

I did read an article somewhere which claimed it did have internal updates to the console of newer improved hardware and chipsets/firmware. Will try find a link for it, was a week ago I read it. They showed internals e.t.c
