    so CPU cooler arrived today... Corsair h80i GT Liquid cooler :-)

    and also ordering a corsair hx850i (850w) platinum power supply tomorrow

    Getting there piece by piece :-)

    For around £15 more I would go for a 250g SSD rather than the 120g. (">

    Edit: Posted the above after reading your proposed spec on page 1. Didn't notice this thread was 6 pages long and 4 weeks old so my input is probably a bit redundant... Unless of course you haven't bought the SSD yet, in which case disregard this edit to my post. (">

    havent bought the SSD yet... going to go for a m.2 SSD for the operating system.

    and ill also have 2 western digital red 4tb 5900rpm drives for games and media etc

    does it make a difference sm950 or sm951?

    The H80i cooler can get quite noisy when playing game's and having fitted hundred's of them I would suggest a H110GTX if your case allows it as it has 140mm fan's and a larger radiator which run's along the top of the case which lead's to much better airflow.

    I was actually doing a new build for my son today and completely agree with what Mule says. I was shocked when it turned on first time with absolutely no issue.

    I still keep looking across the room half expecting smoke. It seems too quite too which is unsettling.
