    Default Plex and Kodi

    Hi all,

I've not used Kodi - I've been using Plex for years since moving from XBMC/OpenElec but with the support that Kodi is getting now I can see that it's getting a lot more development work than Plex which is essentially a closed system.

I know there is PleXBMC that can be used with Kodi but can you view other people's servers using this or will it only work for your local box?

Pretty sure you can view other servers. I used PLEX for years also but tried out EMBY as an alternative and go to say I now prefer it. Ran them side by side at first and EMBY had better quality transcoding and far less issues for me.
They also got the usual Android/KODI plugins and also work for remote servers. I don't work for them ;-) Just sharing my findings.

EDIT: Yes it does support remote playback : http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-onleXBMC

Cheers bud I'll have to dig out my PC and get it installed to try it I think before stumping up for a dedicated unit.
