    Default nand-x supplier

does anyone know where i can purchase a nand x kit with all the cables etc as i am going to attempt to jtag some old 360 sat in the loft where the lens need replacing, never soldered before so was going to have a go and if they go wrong just chuck em , watching the videos i am pretty confident i can do it though, are these still the best to get to read and write the nand, also for anyone who has done it do you still need the diodes as some tuts say you do others say you dont.
    thanks for any advice guys

    Thanks to trueblue924

CK3 have the jrp v2 that's a replacement for nand-x, not done a jtag for ages, you sure it's an old dash? Always used the diodes when I did them.

You have just reminded me that i have a 360 stashed in the loft that i bought way back from sainsburys with the old dash on it, I might dig it out and jtag it for the kids bedroom when i get five.
Like riget i always used the diodes but i've not done one in about 6 year....
Big-Ted was the man back then and this was his tut i used: http://digital-forums.com/showthread...ght=jtag+steps

Let us know how you get on Trueblue

I also used the nand-x coolrunner. Can't remember where I got mine but you can get em off Amazon and Ebay.
If you get the kit it comes with all the wires colour coded and cut to correct length iirc

yeah riget i have three of them in the loft they are on the old dash, couldnt find them on ck3 but have found them online so just got to wait tilll they arrive, once they are done can i just desolder it and use it again or do they have to be kept soldered onto the board,
did you get the diodes as part of the kit piggzy or did you have to get them on there own

Pretty sure they came with the kit. Deffo dont remember buying em separately.

They have to remain soldered at all times. Need one per console.

you'll need to get your own diodes bat41 iirc, only a few pence X2 diodes and a link wire for the jtag hack per console, and the nand x is the programmer/reader to get the info from the console, once modded you can desolder the nandx and swap to another console.

make sure you have a back up of the original dumps before you do any modding, no key vault means a duff system.

use j runner to make your life easier too.

any questions feel free to ask.

Ignore what I said BIG-TED is correct. I was thinking of the coolrunner RGH bit which must remain in the console duh.

Miss mine too. I had RGH slim with tonnes on HDD then it began taking longer and longer to glitch/boot then I discovered if I put it in freezer for 20 mins it would glitch within seconds. this lasted for about 18 months till it finally departed to MS heaven. God rest it's soul . I never did get to finish Far Cry 4 :-(

I still have 2 Rgh jaspers and a 360 on a old jtagable dash, all working. I've got a load of kit somewhere from when I was going to do my own Rgh/jtag but I couldn't solder for toffee, I'm pretty sure I had a NAND-x programmer which I never ended up using, I'll have to try and find it all.

Got round to doing an old Phat Falcon last weekend, I used the lpt method as i had the resistors and diodes left over from last time i did it. Forgot how much was involved...
Biggest mistake i made was making the lpt cable to long so it wouldn't dump my nand
Just Updated the dash and avatars and got xexmenu in my games...
Is dashlaunch booting FSD still the best option for running games from the HDD?

Yes. Never found a decent alternative myself. Does what it says on the tin.

    Thanks to piggzy

    Just a heads up,
I was struggling to download cover art via the FSD dash for the games iv'e transferred over, from what i've read FSD is no longer supported....

Aurora 0.5b seems to be the way forward if you are using your jtag to play games off the HDD
