Same here - the funny bits I loved!
The X-Files needs time to breathe and they were never going to fit much into six episodes so I really hope it gets signed up for more as I'll definitely watch them all
We know the CSM is still kicking around and that their adopted kid has some sort of powers and I can see the finale ending on a cliffhanger - which will absolutely piss me off if the network don't order any more episodes!
Just watched the finale - Chris Carter loves leaving things with cliffhangers and you can see its purely to get more episodes lined up so I really hope for all our sakes we get more!
Look away from the opening credits where it lists the actors names if you don't want it to spoil someone's appearance.
I'm glad to see it back and can only hope they ended on this note as they were guaranteed more episodes otherwise they're just evil

I couldn't get past episode 4. I thought the first 3 were Shiite but wanted to give it a chance. Another example of someone just returning for the fucking money, like season 4 of Arrested Development.

Saw what I now know from your comments was episode three tonight. Haven't seen an episode of the x files for at least fifteen years. Thought it was a good laugh. Monster of the week. Will maybe watch some more before another fifteen years has passed.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
Episode 6 was shite. End of.

Now that it's finished up, I can see how they've made it just to see if they extend it's life.
Bring in the old faces to gauge the popularity and hand over to the next generation. Poor end IMO if there are to be no more episodes made.
Having said that, if someone does pick X-Files up for more then I can easily see the 2 new agents being supported by cameos from M&S. There wil be no answers though. That's the draw of the show.

So I have now binge watched all 6 episodes in one hit and I personally think they were all very good. As I said before its clear to see they are testing the water with different ideas, styles and characters. What it proves to me and probably most fans of the series is that its one that will make it, if it returns. There have been suggestions of many series in the past making a comeback but they are all reluctant and when a series is good and ended on a high, then there is a high chance any new series could tarnish the reputation. I've heard this as a contributing reason for a few things, like Fawlty Towers and Friends to name a few.
They made this mini series in a good way, a couple of "conspiracy" episodes, a few standalones, a deep and meaningful and a black humour one. The latter being not as bad as some have said.
I like the direction they are taking this in, and I can see as said above the other two becoming the main protagonists with Mulder and Skully playing cameo roles. I think that's quite a good idea, but I am not yet fully on board with the other two feds. I felt the same when Dogget and Rayes popped up in the old series, took a while to kind of "break them in". That said I came to like both of the characters a lot, and would be happy to see them appear again.
I look forward to a full series soon and compared to other reboots/remakes (Which lets face it, is all that seems to be on our screens anyway) I think this stands tall against other series and does no damage to the X Files reputation. A worthy continuation.
I also noticed the names of two tombstones in Episode 3 of Kim Manners and Jack Hardy. Obviously a nod to them, both being a directors of the X Files (Kim) and Lone Gunmen and Millennium (Jack). There's other Easter Eggs in that episode as well.
Anyway for me it was like it always was, plus I am a big fan of the franchise so I give it an overall 8/10.
