Apple Makes Fun Of Windows Users At Its Event Today

Constant jabs! Microsoft and Apple may be friends now, or at least both companies have called a truce, but that does not stop both technology giant from poking fun and throwing little jabs at one another.
Fancy little jabs.
Then again, by now everyone has gotten used to seeing technology companies mocking each other during their press events.
This time around it was Apple that was doing the talking, making fun of Microsoft and Windows users during its iPhone SE and iPad Pro launch conference today.
More specifically, Phil Schiller was in no mood to take prisoners when he took the stage to introduce the shiny new iPad Pro and said labeled it as the ultimate PC replacement — very clear that Apple is feeling the threat from Microsoft in the tablet realm.
Schiller also referenced some statistics that were presented by Microsoft and Intel which claimed that around 600 million of the PCs currently in use are more than 5 years old.
That’s really sad, the senior Apple executive remarked.
While at the same time pointing towards the upgrade rates of iOS users and how Apple manages to bring its users on the latest models of its hardware and the newest versions of its software.
Speaking of which, a quick glance reveals a rather lukewarm response to both the new products that the Cupertino based company unveiled today — the iPhone SE with its 4-inch screen is targeted at a very select group of buyers, while the new iPad Pro brings nothing majorly new.
Other than the smaller screen size, obviously.
So this event was about a smaller version of a bigger version of a smaller device, or something like that.
Microsoft will, at the end of the day, will be pleased this competition with its Surface lineup, which in turn will drive the company to further improve its tablet. And same goes for other Windows hardware makers and their Windows 10 powered tablets, convertibles and hybrids.

I must admit, as a stonewall Apple guy, I'm tempted by surface pro 4.

I love my iPad pro with Logitech keyboard and it does me for 95% of my computing but I still have to get my MacBook out once in a while as iPad isn't a full desktop os.

Give me a touchscreen but sleek Mac laptop and I'm sold

It's a bit of a non story really, but my point is the same, Apple are missing out on a trick not having a touchscreen Mac or convertible Mac tablet

As matly says i don't know why they never just put osx onto the ipad pro would have sold shit loads more.

Apple would think that people are getting their monies worth out of the equipment by keeping them a long time cos to them that's errrrr ummmm 10 generations out of date??

I think if Apple made a tablet with full blown OSX they would sell shed loads. I know i would throw my money at them.

Don't get me wrong, I really love my iPad pro. I use it almost exclusively at home (typing this on it now) and my MacBook only comes out for anything the iPad can't do. I just wish I had a device, preferably Mac, that would do it all. I might pick up a surface pro 4 to see if it suits me but I don't generally play well with Windows.

My pc is over 10 years old... but in that time I've had 3 new motherboards, 4 sets of new memory, 2 new cases, 4 new power supplies, 3 new processors and 2 new graphics cards....

I had an iPhone 5 and an iPad mini 2 that barely chugged along....even after the later iOS upgrades. Apple have no room to mock anyone.
