Has anyone any experience with this . Fucking hell what a ball ache from start to finish went through about 10 guides to get it set up each guide wasn't complete so trying to find the right ones was just as bad . Found a video on youtube followed it to a T still would work can't find this can't find that bla bla bla . Ive downloaded well over 100 gig worth the Roms still couldn't get it running. Had to rename all the Roms also still wouldn't work . Also fucking about with path's and ini files i think I've done more damage than good . Also when trying to rename the MAME files Don's name changer kept shitting itself wasn't quite working on win 10 . After 2 days straight I gave up fuck sake only wanted a game of Street Fighter and Metal Slug and Alex The Kidd. Saying that it doe's look the part in videos . Also had the same problems with mame about a year back Any one know of any easy to run emus . I see some people are selling the hard drives set up already wouldn't mind buying one or maybe i should get my xbox J-tagged/RGH and run FBA Next on it no one in belfast does it though lol. Still didn't get a go at street fighter.

I set up 3d arcade many moons ago and had it running perfectly until one day it started playing up, from then on I just can't be bothered with setting up the nice frontends and just use any basic version of mame to get my quick fix.

Just not worth the hassle especially since I'm just playing it on a desktop/psp or Android device.

I've had numerous attempts at getting mame set up and I always end up with a few 100 gig of roms that need updating to run at all. After a few hours of pissing around I give up and rage-close the windows. Then a few months later I realise I'm wasting a ton of HDD space, delete them all only to do the same thing all over again a year later.

I have set these up in the past, however everything apart from MAME was piss easy to setup.
With Mame you need to have the EXACT romset which THAT version of MAME is looking for, probably easier to download an all in one MAME + ROMS collection and do it that way.

I wouldn't go the JTAG route with the 360 myself I would stick to the PC

Ive tried every way under the sun mate even tried mame sets with roms attached nothing. Also tried other emu's its one thing or the other tried FBA ( Controller problems ) Mame ( Rom Problems ) Hyperspin (fuckup from start to finish ) thats another night spend at it . The Easiest way would be to xbox j tagged . Ive 2 xbox ones the 360 hasn't been switched on in months . Just have to find some one to do it.

Popped to Ikea at the weekend, bought a table - they are currently only £5.
I ended up getting white. I couldn't decide between that or black.. Thinking about it black would probably be better but I might get some decals made for it in any case.
Got a drawer full of Pi's, just need to buy the buttons/joysticks and Leonardo's to control them and a piece of acrylic.

Have a monitor I can use etc... so I am pretty much good to go.

Probably going to use a Pi 2 and add a Bluetooth and Wifi Dongle. I am also going to have a bash at making it 2 player.

Going to spend this week getting the Pi ready, I will pop up some images etc.. as it is going.

Went for a cheaper option on the buttons/joystick/encoder.
Managed to get 2 sets for £20 as I had a £5 voucher to use - item 282012561452 from eBay

Should arrive this week and I will report on the quality. I can then start the build.

I just got my xbox RGH have all the emu's running what i need I'm over the moon lol.

Started on it last night.
Still waiting for the buttons/joysticks, but I dismantled the monitor and cut out the space.

The Monitor has a Hub built in and it also powers a speaker bar that I have for it. It should power the Pi as well meaning I can power it all off one device.
It is an old Dell 20" job 4:3 to make it feel right. I have the perspex ready to lay over the top.
These tables are easy to cut with a stanley knife. I am now considering putting some Vinyl over the top with custom design...

Can anyone recommend where to get a custom decal printed 55cm x 55cm ?

Joysticks/buttons/encoders turned up ready for the weekend

Joysticks seem fine but the buttons.... I might have to order some decent ones as they do feel far too cheap. Encoders look vry very cheap also but I guess we won't know until we try them.

Had to leave the buttons/joysticks at work over the weekend and waiting for the right size hole cutters to turn up.
Hoping to have made a good dent in it by next weekend.

Made a bit of progress tonight as the hole cutters arrived and I brought the joystick/buttons home.
Also made some mistakes.. 30mm buttons, I ordered 28mm hole cutter thinking it would be enough.. Nope it needs 30mm
So I used a wood 30mm on a hole I had cut (only 1) and it slipped..
The other holes I used the 30mm cutter but it was a bit harsh..

However, I am putting Perspex over the top and getting a decal printed. So it will mask the mistake and also I have orders a decent 30mm cutter to cut the Perspex cleanly.
