    Default ENGLAND were DIRE

    WTF have I just watched.

wish id put that free £30 bet on Iceland when England went up 1-0.

They had no passion, at the end they were headless chickens hoping others would get them out of the shiit.

Waste of time watching it, the Italian game was a lot better

Now Roy has resigned. The whole fcking team should resign

We're shite. The Premier League doesn't produce decent international footballers. It just doesn't. None of the big European teams come in for English players because they know that they're inferior. We don't value possession of the ball and when we come up against a team that are well organised and are prepared to defend deep, we run out of ideas and end up slinging hopeful balls into the box. We're naive tactically and just looking fucking tired and bored. Now Hodgson has thrown in the towel but who replaces him? What a fucking lash up.

Woy underestimated Iceland and certainly didn't play our strongest team. Dire, Kane shouldn't have started, Kane should of subbed himself at half time, so much for the hype of Sterling to start and then sub him at 60mins cos he sh!t.

Too many big names in the England team not just under performed but they constantly made mistakes, the amount of times Rooney gave the ball away was laughable.

It was obvious from the way they played in the group stages they were no where near what we all expected. The beating of Wales was luck.

Just read this by Stephane Henchoz...

‘All World coaches operate on the same model: they know they have visibility of ten to twelve days,’ Henchoz wrote for Le Temps. ‘Three or four matches. Whoever loses is fired. This removes any room for national sentiment. When you have on one side a young English player and the other a guy from Lorient or Malaga who costs three or four times less money and is better trained technically, physically, tactically and mentally, the choice is quickly made. At 18, the English player has not mastered the fundamentals. The first touch, body positioning, the accuracy of the pass; all these basic things at the highest level are not acquired.
‘The English have long lived their superiority in the areas of physical and mental. It was long valued the cultivation of fighting spirit . Recruiters favored players beefy, powerful and fast at the expense of smaller riders, the audience applauded tackles, referees were very tolerant in the tackle. Since then, other countries have largely caught up on the physical aspect. As for the famous “mental” in English, it is not foolproof. It is clear when English go to play abroad he experiences great difficulty in acclimatising. Out of his comfort zone (run, tackle, press), he is quickly destabilised when the coach asks him to do something else (temporising, play the opponent), because nobody has taught him anything else.’

    Sums it up nicely.

Even as an Englishman I was still looking forward to supporting Wales in the next round until I heard about them over celebrating England being knocked out.

    Now they can fook off......

    Come on Belgium!!!

Bobby Charlton was asked how he thought the England team of '66 would have fared against Iceland. " I think we'd have won 1-0 " he replied. "Only 1-0?" Said the reporter. "Yes," said Bobby. "Most of us are in our 70's now!"

When I was getting fuel today, I glanced at the newspaper headlines; The sun had "Beckham for England Manager" as a headline.

    Oh dear

I like Beckham to be honest. Not really an England manager tho. Has he even managed a team? Apart from a bunch of kids...

    Oh wait.

Big Sam? Mick from the Pub? Who else is there?

    My money's on Mick.

I think we should poach Martin O'Neill off the Irish. At least he has a few trophy wins on his CV and he's cut his teeth on the international stage. The way they threw bodies in the way of shots against Italy was awesome. The Irish lads had a hero's welcome when they returned home and they went out at the same stage as us.
He's hit the glass ceiling with Republic of Ireland. With England he could actually win something. Well get us a round further at least.
