I have got a few nice handheld moon shots the last couple of nights which I'm pleased with. With my tamron 300mm and the 2x extender and even managed to get it to autofocus.

Are there any decent free image hosting sites at the moment ? I used to use imageshack but I logged in and it's apparently expired and was asking me to go premium ??

Just a question I have if someone had a Nikon DSLR camera which broke would the lenses from that fit most other Nikon cameras? does each manufacturer have a bespoke fitment?

each manufacturer has their own fitment and some manufacturers have several. You can get converters between most of them but you sometimes lose some functionality.

if its a relatively new lens (less than say 20 years old) then it should work fine. You may find that older lenses will work with a few quirks. Nikon have used the same 'F' mount on their DSLRs since 1959.
