    Help Found an Iphone

I found an iphone 6s last night but it had a connect to itunes on the screen when i turned it on,

I have connected to itunes but it comes up with the following: This iPhone is linked to an Apple ID. Enter the Apple ID and password that were used to set up this iPhone. (b●●●●●@y●●●●●.au)

there is no sim card (or sim tray) so no way of tracking down the owner, so is there any way i can do a workaround on this and get it to work / factory reset? I have done a quick google but its a bit of a minefield and unsure if i am wasting my time or not.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks to dannoble82

Why not hand it in to a police station?

If like here it's not claimed within, i think it's 30 days it becomes your property i think

Sounds like the iCloud Lock. It can be removed but I'm not sure how, I've not been lucky enough to find a phone!

there seems to be a few places that claim to be able to do it but they all want money which is making me suspicious, especially as i can not tell if they are legit.

Lol well thank buddah it was not you who found my phone in a taxi about 3 weeks ago. I gave the chap a £20 reward as i hadn't even realized I had lost it. He called "home" on my phone and my misses answered the home phone and sorted it out so lad detoured his cab past mines and dropped it in.
Anyway morals aside lol there are a few places about who can do it for a price. At the end of the day if the owner blacklists it in any way then you are going to end up with a barred phone weather it is unlocked or not....and from there you are looking at imei tampering which is very frowned upon in the uk and carries possible prison.

i have no way to contact them, no sim card and is locked (says needs to connect to itunes) there is no way to find the number on there otherwise i would take it back, but as it is impossible to take back to the owner what can i do? Is there a way to send an email or message to them?

But if there is no way of getting in touch then is there a way that i can find out if it has been registered as lost or stolen? i will not be looking at changing imei then - whatever that is

Yeah phones are dear these days and it will get blacklisted soon so all you are doing is ending up with something worthless and making some other poor fuckers life a misery. You stated a mail address above. If that was visible then can you not drop them a mail?

It seems like you are trying every avenue to get it unlocked and keep it rather than doing the right thing and hand it in to either the Police or Apple - someone has lost that very expensive piece of technology.

How do you know if it doesn't have pictures or videos of a relatives last days before passing away? Not that you seem to given a thought or a crap about that kind of thing.

I personally think you are a nasty peice of work and I hope you lose your own phone to someone as shitty as you.

    All of this.

It seems you are trying every excuse not to do the right thing.

Surely the sim states which network so you could even phone them and give them the emei number etc and they can work it out.

Trying to make out there is nothing that can be done is complete BS and pretty poor behaviour.

    Thanks to Gunnzie

Someone 'loses' a phone with no SIM in it. Now he has to be BS'ing there.

Someone loses a phone but has the hindsight to remove their sim card first. What a stroke of luck

Other than that, take it in to Apple, police station, etc. Plenty of opportunities rather than keep it. Sorry that's a fact.

    Thanks to Gunnzie

Dan said he couldn't find the tray. Half way down the right hand side is a hole. Stick a straightened out paper clip in there and out pops the SIM tray which will have the SIM in it. Easy really.

    Thanks to BertRoot
