Last night on the way home

Driving home last night around 9pm when I saw a dark black object to my right through the trees around 30ft up.
not knowing what it was I said to the wife what the f**k is that!!!
She looked for a minute or so as we were driving and shouted pull the car over pull over now!

so I stopped the car and jumped out as this huge black object shot off to the distance over the hills.
It had red and orange lights on one corner blue green on another with white lights in other parts with no order.

from what I saw it must have been at least 40ft x 40ft and maybe 15ft tall with what my wife described as an x shape to it.

I only saw the side view as I was driving and the back end view as it disappeared which to me looked a triangle shape more than a x shape.

I posted this on twitter when I got home and today have been contacted by the express and echo local newspaper.
im not sure if I should contact them or not?
i can assure you I thought about what we saw and so has my wife and we are completely stumped as it went from hovering silently to vanished within 10 seconds with no noise whatsoever!

take the piss all you want but we are not crazy and I am not making this up.
