What a bloody joke. I think I'd make more money squandering it at the dog track.
Anyone else's bank royally take the piss?

stick them on Bonds daughters made £500 on her £400 bonds we placed 2 years ago
They all take the piss atm but when they can borrow so cheaply from the BoE then no reason to pay decent savings rates. Depending on the amount involved and if you can be bothered with the hassle you can get better rates through regular savers (5% First direct etc) and some of the current accounts.
Nice return, it's the exception though. Mrs has about £15k I think and has made less than that in the last 5 years
There's no reward for loyalty for the average man.

Are premium bonds worth the investment?

I had £2800 in premium bonds for 2 Years and never had a win, not even 50p ! but with interest rates so low and the return being so neglible then I think that would now be a better investment, you never know you might even get lucky with a win and also you'll always get your investment back in full at anytime.

its a gamble but without losing, if you won £50 on £1k its more than you would get in interest at any bank.
Hi
I know its limited and you have to put at least £1 every month but this works - and if you are a customer you can open one for each family member.

Dear Lord, please grant me the ability to punch people in the face over Standard TCP/IP
I don't think that is a very good return, if you invested the maximum of £300 p/m then that would only give you a return of around £97 for the Year that's just £1.86 p/w. Ok it's a return but that just shows how little savers get with the interest rates being so low, great for those with mortgage payments. I think I'd rather invest that into premiium bonds and hope for a win ! I'm certainly not going to miss £1.86 p/w ..........

Decent return for little or no risk. I have been playing and so far it is paying off.
