You know what.......I'm not sure I enjoyed that.

OK, so Negan had to exert his dominance.....I get that. But the level of violence and gore seemed unnecessarily gratuitous.

The show is having to get bigger and bolder with the introduction of each new bad guy. I'm sure that the Negan storyline will be brilliant, but I wonder if it's time to start winding the show down before the story-lines go massively overboard.

@dpsparhawk that really made me spit my coffee out

yeah it was graphic and maybe over the top but did you watch it all ?
because for me it really built up the hatred for negan and who knows he might turn out to be the best thing to happen to walking dead.

I nearly turned it off, I found the first episode very harrowing, the bit when he had to choose to cut his lads arm off.....that made me feel very uncomfortable...

not really, all this played out originally in the comics originally (pretty much exactly as you see on the screen but with Abraham thrown in for good measure), so I dont think it was all done for shock value,
its just a lot nastier when you see it on the screen rather than drawn (for me)
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Have to agree, I think my Mrs thought I had lost the plot (she doesnt watch it) as I might have been a little bit "yes, go on! - cut his fucking arm off the little prick - yeehaw!"

I'm in complete agreement Flumperino (would have replied with quote but for some reason my spacebar doesn't work when I try that!)

    I haven't watched S07 E01 and I don't think I can.
The last episode of Season 6 just fecked my head up .. the last bit with the bat .. just made me feel sick and I just thought that's it for me.
From what I've read, heard from mates, seen videos on FB with peoples reactions of it I think it's gone too far for me.
I thought it had gone a bit far when they showed the head cutting off scene a couple of seasons ago when it coincided with the Lee Rigby incident but this is just mental.

Hope you guys enjoy it though and it's been a good ride for 6 years but I'm gonna move on to Bake Off I think

I don't see it as padding......yes they have duller episodes now and again, but this episode intouduced the Kingdom, Ezekial and Shiva.....All play a vital role in the battle with the Saviours in the future if you've read the comics.

I do have to admit though..This storyline with Carol and her self pity is dragging out a bit and they need to knock that on the head.

I thought Ezekial was a brilliant character and just used his past life as a zookeeper and a stage performer to get ahead in this new world.

They could happily kill her off for me. She has just become annoying.
