Should I buy an XB1S?

Had my Day One edition XB1 for a while now (obviously) and I keep seeing the XB1S in shops and am tempted. I have a 4K TV so that plays into my hands nicely but I'm still undecided on whether I should "upgrade".

I hear the interface is faster but I've never really had any issues with the existing one. There's no UHD Blurays to speak of so at the moment there's no rush for that.

The only selling factors for me are
1. The size - smaller is better

2. 4K upscaling in games

So my question is... Does the scaling work well enough to justify me spanking 100 notes on top of my existing console to get an S?

Asda have the XB1S for �250 with Battlefield 1, which i think is a decent price so i'm getting one, plus a 4K tv is going to find it's way into my house soon

I've no wish to start a console war. But from what I've seen, it will seriously spank the PS4 pro.

Oh I'll definately be getting a Scorpio. There's no question of that but I do like movies and having the option for UHD disks is a good one - especially for Christmas/birthday presents : http://store.hmv.com/film-tv/4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray

It does look that way. I also wonder if the serious power boost it to in some way incorporate it's use with the hololens ! From what I have seen it looks amazing.

I seem to recall reading that the xbox developer/project bloke for this console said that he felt that VR gaming isn't where it should be - yet. But they were trying to make this console ready for the VR revolution

If VR was such a big deal we would already have it. I remember playing the old VR flight games back about 25 years ago in the arcade. The tech has been with us for ages - it's just people don't really want to sit with a VR headset on to play games. It's as much of a fad as the Wii nunchuks.
Look at the Playstation 3 and 4. They have movement controllers built into them but I've only seen them used a couple of times and the touch part of the PS4 controller is just annoying.

VR is just a stepping stone to them transmitting the video direct into your mind ;-)

I have treated myself to a new Xbox One S, it should arrive today, wanted one with a HDD bigger than 500GB but the only options i could find (that were in stock) is the white Fifa 1TB bundle for approx �250
I cant stand Fifa so decided to go with the Gears of War IV pack, 2TB HDD and its Red - what more do you want

I got the One S, very quiet as well which is good, Not got a 4K tv just jet My 55"Sony Bravia is one of the best for gaming as its 25MS I think, Not sure how fast the 4K tv's are.
Will prob take a look after my holiday to Thailand in Feb

Btw the Porn on my S7 with the VR gear headset is really good

Ok so had my new 4K TV and the Xbox One S last friday, been having a play and so far im very impressed with both.

The S is very quiet and games look stunning (e.g. Gears 4) - they seem to have made some slight changes to the controller too which feels even better than the standard one
Im impressed enough that I am going to be selling my standard Xbox One as I have just ordered a 2nd Gears of War edition one to replace it

Fuck me that is a bargain compared to what I paid lol ... Love the controller. Feels like a proper expensive bit of kit.. when the kids are up I usually use the normal controller and now it feels like a cheap plasticky piece of knock off in comparison.

Yeah seems a no brainer ;-) must be able to sell the xbox on ebay for �170 say so getting controller for �30 ;-)

I was thinking of buying and splitting and selling separately as think would make a profit �170 console + sell the controller for �80 making a quick �50 (pre ebay charges)
