Default Amazon Fire TV Stick £22.99 free collection @ Maplin

EDIT: Maplin have joined in the fun and there is no limit by the looks of it and 6.5% quidco:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/amazon-fir...tick-8gb-a86wg

Amazon may price match as they did the Argos deal. The new quad core model doesn't seem to be out yet and even when it is it looks like it is only available with a voice remote so over £40.

Cheapest about, cash back through quidco/top cash back too, limited to one per customer for Black Friday:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/product/39293...p:fire:tvstick

If you use quidco try this for £10 cash back if you opt in and spend £25 or more:

    FUCK!
Just reserved a Fire Stick at Currys for £24.99 thinking that was good. Oh well!

And yes, if you use Plex, you NEED one of these. Fantastic replacement to the server killing NowTV's.

    EDIT.
Still, £25 for a great bit of kit. Is the upgrade to Quad worth another £20? I'm not so sure.
I paid £300 for an Acer Revo a fews years back. This Stick is capable of practically the same thing (apart from running full blown Windows - sluggishly - of course).

At a guess they require transcoding which rinses server resources and maybe the fire stick can stream withou transcoding. I had to move plex server from my n40l to my gen8 microserver which is pretty beefy as I kept having issues.

For anyone getting the Fire Stick for KODI, do not use the KODI themes on youtube - they will simply slow your stick down with the amount of add-ons and crap they put on there. You simply want KODI and just the add-ons themselves, like Exodus or SALTS.

    2 Thanks given to crazyal

I use the Aeon Nox skin which is one of the default skins and it seems responsive, I used to have Aeon MQ on my Revo but as you say it slows the stick right down.
