Default EvE Online has gone f2p

Don't know how many of you play EvE but I've dabbled quite a bit in the past but always been put off by the subscription fee however since mid November it has moved to the free to play model.

For people that haven't played EvE it is a very acquired taste and has the steepest learning curve of any game in existence.

Are there any restrictions like most Freemium games or will I be able to play it for free and actually get somewhere?

    Thanks

You should be able to play as much as you like. It's not like others

Guess the economy will take a bit of a hit.

Reinstalled last night so might jump back in. Lost a very very expensive ship last time I played it so I'm not sure I want to get back into it lol.

    Spreadsheets in space.

I tried it once and even kinda enjoyed it. But you really do need to dedicate your life to it if you want to get anywhere and myself personally, simply do not have the time and/or patience.

    Thanks to CominAtcha

Always fancied playing this but the subscription stopped me, time to try it now.

I know what you mean. I got quite into it and used to have a number of applications to manage my skills, used a bot to mine ore semi-automatically and was a member of a very large corporation running across a few systems. Was good fun when you get in with a good group but can also be mind-numbigly boring crunching numbers.

Played for about 2 years, managed to sell my main account off, kept my miner/pve account, and somehow still have access to my ex's account.. (lol)
Rolled goonfleet most of my time on eve with a group of stealth bomber pilots, about the best time I had in eve was with those guys. Lost a few billion isk in a very unpleasant occurrence, and quit eve online.

Kinda tempted to install eve... but at the same time I know I'm just going to rage uninstall it.
