Since the "Is DF dying?" thread I've been trying to think of ways we could spark some life in to some sections and I've been hit with a thunderbolt.
I think it's safe to assume the majority of us are tech heads ergo we also like to play games.
So...how about a "Retro High Score of the Week/Month" competition?
We all have computers capable of running emulators so I am thinking each week/month a game is selected from the years 1985 - 2000 and everyone submits their high score.
Obviously there will need to be rules which are open to discussion.
E.g:
Obviously no cheating.
Not necessary to complete the game, just get the highest score you can.
Screenshot being submitted as proof of score. Some sort of method to prove it's legit will also be needed, any suggestions?
Being allowed to submit a high score until the cut off time.
Following platforms will be considered, Nintendo SNES, Sega Megadrive, PC, MAME.
Instructions to obtain the game of the week/month will also be submitted along with a play-through video from Youtube (if one can be found).
As for prize? Maybe DF can give a weeks free VIP to the winner? Or you get special signature in your profile showing the Achievement?
That's also up for discussion.
So, any thoughts?
I've added the pole to see how many people will be genuinely interested to do this.
Over 20 people should be good enough but I would love to see closer to 50+. There is no limit on how many people can enter.
