Get yourself a gateway card for 3ds. Its more expensive (2 cards though) but at least you will get continuous updates as its new and 3d games as a bonus

Note: The Gateway 3DS currently only supports firmware versions 4.5.* and lower, please check compatibility before ordering.

the gateway cards are not worth it just yet, maybe in 6/12 months. but for now you can ONLY install ONE game per micro sd, game saves do not work, homebrew does not work, multi region does not work and there are lots of problems.

I might be being a bit thick here but where does it say what version of firmware it is on the 3ds?
Forget that last post I've found it, looks like I'm on 7.1.0 so I guess no chance of a cart for me.
For playing DS ROM's, for me the best flashcard is Supercard DSTWO. Continuous updates, good support. Some time ago (maybe 1 year), Acekard2i was a good option, but that is part of the past.
For ROM's for 3DS, I don't like anyone, Gateway or clons.
They have so many limitations and complicated charging system ROMS.
My lad has dug up his old dsi and acekard2i and is pestering me to update the acekard so he can use it.
Had a quick look and it seems like the acekard is dead now with no updates, so what card would you recommend for a dsi ?
Cheers
Andy
ok thanks m8 i will tell him
hi
bought my daughter a 2DS for xmas - not sure what firmware its on, what cartridge can i use on this? does it block carts on the 2DS if you update the firmware?
I'm just about to buy a 3DS XL with FBI installed. Supposedly you find a QR code, point the console camera at it and it downloads straight to the sd card.
Anyone know much about this?
There's an app called (fre)eShop which you can use to do this, as far as I know FBI is an app to install .cia files (which are game installers to put titles on your homescreen)
You don't need to actually scan any barcodes, you can load a 3ds.titlekeys file into the (fre)eShop which contains the keys for almost all the games on the official eshop and from there you can browse the games and install then as you see fit.
They install to your system SD card, so its worth upgrading that before you go wild in the aisles as games can be up to 4gb, but most are under a gig.
google 3ds.titlekeys
If its already got FBI installed then that's the hard bit done
They you just need to boot into FBI via the Health and Safety App (the shortcut is repointed to FBI)
Navigate to where your CIA files are on the SD
then press A (I think) to install all CIA files in this folder ;-)

While the 3DS I just bought had FBI installed, I was considering getting another one and installing FBI myself.
On that note Good luck ;-)
http://www.3dsiso.com/ Has guides but it took me a few days of faffing about and reading up to get it installed but since then been all good ;-)
Well, I'm not sure what's going on but I open FBI, select Remote Install, select Scan QR Code and scan the relevant QR code from 3ds.titlekeys. It then says, 'Install from scanned QR code?' and I click Yes (A).
The issue is that on the 'Installing from URL(s) screen, it just sits there forever showing 0/1, 0.00B/0.00B and 0.00B/s. I've no idea why.
*edit
It seems that my router wasn't allowing access to the 3ds.titlekeys site. I did a factory reset and all is now well!
