just decided to get one my self and was wondering if you can get footy streams to play on it through plex or another app.

I got navix installed but it won't load any of the live tv channels for some reason

Maybe someone else can verify this

No reason why it shouldn't work though

Just purchased plex for iOS and playbook

So I have my main plex server on 24 7 streaming to the 3 now boxes ,iPhone,,iPad and playbook , kids love it

I got two running at the mo fine , got some more on order

Also really like the fact they are low power consumption , just like my server :-)

How are you doing that? Whenever I try a stream on mine (even on my android tablet) it says make sure the server is running, on android it just says "cannot play this video". Normal videos (films and TV shows) work fine through NaviX.

I loaded NaviX on my XBMC PC and the same stream plays through that fine so I know the stream is OK, just Plex doesn't want to play it.

Mine's just arrived. Very impressed.
Set it up in the kids' room so they've got iPlayer, Spotify and Hoopla to go at. They love it. Really wish there was a Netflix channel, and without all the fannying about with Plex or whatever.

A bit unfortunate as well some of the Sky ads at the bottom of the main screen are of stills from movies not suitable for kids.

You only need about 10 minutes to set it up if you already have plex, I didn't have plex so it took around 20 mins

Been spending all day redoing my home network, just plugged the thing up and it wants to update itself!

Sky haven't cottoned on that quick have they?

Mine had an update out the box mate and I have Plex installed ok. You may have a different update but just saying out the box update isn't unusual.

Yeah mine did the same out of the box, updated straight away. The url was in case they send another update to fuck us all over.

Cheers fellas. I got paranoid so set the box up on a static ip and blocked all ports from that ip to wan. Then it wouldn't even connect to wifi - needed to allow DNS to 8.8.8.8 + ICMP to the router IP to allow the first stage of the connection to complete.

Then I found to get the next of connection to work, I had to open port 80 to 173.194.34.82 + 2.20.147.131 and 443 to 174.143.222.61 otherwise it would fail the local network test.

Then when it was just about to update, I saw the following states (10.200.1.7 is my Sky Go box)

Tried to block the damn thing but it won't let me use it so this software update will have to be applied.

I'm thinking if anyone really likes them, you may wanna stock up so you can get it working then leave it in a cupboard - Sky could patch this very soon.
