Default US keyboard, UK layout, where is backslash?

Normally it is pretty easy to find the missing symbols on a US keyboard but does anyone know where the backslash goes when you use a UK layout on the US keyboard? The US backslash gives me # or ~, the # symbol gives me £, the ~ key gives ` or ¬.

If not I will have to use the US layout on here but that will slow typing.

    Cheers

True US keyboards have a return key that is only 1 row high on the ASDF line. The \ key is actually not present on of keyboards as far as i am aware......

Should be the key to the left of the Z. Which just isn't there on my laptop with US keys!

I'm in the same boat but have always just left mine on US settings, I'm now used to either whether it's US on my laptop or UK at work.

Only thing I really find a pain in the hole with the US one is the lack of a pound sign. So I tend to say things like "10 quid" instead and if I really have to then it's a copy/paste job once I've googled for "pound sign".

    \ - Alt+0092
    £ - Alt+0163

Don't know if that would be any easier for you

Hmm looks like I have to sacrifice either the backslash or the pound sign. Holding alt then pressing 0092 does nothing for me and if 0092 refers to the command of the key I don't know how to enter that command manually

Cheers for comments, will decide which is best soon.

Why not just character map the £ over the top of the $
