Any thoughts from anyone on how to interpret the subject for this month? I ain't got a scooby doo!
Here's an explanation mate.
"In photography, the technique of simplicity is used to achieve the effect of singling out an item or items from their surrounding.
Simplicity is one of the underlying photographic techniques; a cluttered picture distracts the eye and takes away from the subject. A simple picture can be achieved by getting closer to the subject, which is also one of the main rules of photography.
Simplicity is one of the main components of most good photographs. The simpler the picture, the easier it is for the viewer to comprehend the subject and appreciate it. Cluttered images and backgrounds are less visually pleasing and more likely to cause the subject and lesser objects to confuse each other visually."
This isn't a veiled Macro comp however, just for the record
Also, from a different perspective
"Simplicity is the property, condition, or quality of being simple or un-combined. It often denotes beauty, purity or clarity. Simple things are usually easier to explain and understand than complicated ones. Simplicity can mean freedom from hardship, effort or confusion."

Wide open this month. Could have anything really, may take some of my simple neighbours.
Anything indeed however, should hopefully result in some interesting shots
Run the word "simplicity" through Flickr and there are 40095 result for images with the word in it. Should be a few ideas there for you.
i expect CJ to do well this month - he makes ordinary stuff look great
I might do a self portrait. I've shown how simple I am by posting in the wrong thread doh. Plus i'm sure CJ will say i'm simple from my what threads of his i've posted in as well
I'm would interpret this as a simple shot using just the basic's, no fancy equipment just one simple shot with no PS etc.
Hi Livesy,
Think minimalistic, uncluttered, focusing on a single point of interest. Like Wingnut said, check Flickr out and you'll see thousands of examples of Simplistic.
The topic is not about whether someone can use PS or not or does indeed use PS or not, it's about what the image contains and how it is composed. However some of those images are created using very advanced equipment and post processing. What I'm looking for here is the content of the shot, I have no issue with people boosting curves, saturation, sharpening, noise reduction (these are the basic requirements anyway with shots from a DSLR)
shameless recycling of your title Bilbo
who's gonna tell Rap that his pic must be embedded - bloody noobs
