Default Item shipping after Ebay Listing removed.

    Hi All,

Would appreciate a little bit of advice. Sold some tickets on ebay today, the buyer paid for the item straight away but then Ebay sent me an email saying that the listing was removed because it breaches their events tickets policy. Obviously the Buyer has had the same email, informing them not to pay for the item and to open a dispute.

I'm looking at posting the items out tmrw special delivery to the buyer. Just a little concerned that the person who bought the tickets could raise a dispute after the sporting event 'item not as described' or something and try and get his payment reversed on the basis that ebay had cancelled the listing?!

I'll be able to provide a tracking number into paypal - just wondering of this will be enough?!

    Cheers

My opinion is, you breached the T&C's on eBay.
Don't send the tickets out if you don't want any comebacks. Far too easy-a-target for the dispute to be raised.

Write the auction off as a failed attempt and return the buyers cash.

You could then request his information, do a bank transfer of the cash and send them that way instead... but again, also risky.

Ebay won't help you if this goes tits up mate. Call me a cynic but the buyer could well milk this for a freebie.

Why would that be risky. Once he has the money in his account and with no Paypal involvement to reverse the sale I would have thought it would be safe enough. (">

The buyer can reverse the payment at any time and you'll have no leverage because the listing has been removed. Don't send them, contact the buyer and work something out if you still want to go through with the sale.

Been there with this one, the payment can't be reversed because according to ebays system the transaction didn't happen. It comes down to the moral aspect-do you do the right thing? I did and posted the item, have you tried contacting the purchaser to discuss?

I'd have asked for bank transfer and then sent them, the money is then safely yours and can't be touched. Its the buyer that risks his money that way rather than you risking your tickets.

Irrespective of eBay pulling your listing a buyer can always raise a dispute or recall the cash through PayPal. All you can do is check there feed back and if they look like a decent ebayer then go ahead with the sale. Always send tickets via special next day. I'm running/starting an eBay business and have had claims that I'm not sent the right thing when I know I have. I just have to send more out as I don't want the negative feedback or cases not be resolved.
