Best way to kill an xbox?

My mate's X360 has the single red light of death and expects MS to tell him they want £60 to repair it.

Is there any way to get this xbox to go 3ROD so MS will fix it for free?

Stick it in a enclosed space and leave it on over night, in my expierience, just switching the cnut on was enough to do it

People have had sucess just telling them its 3 red lights when it isnt. Remember MS with their 3rr free fix, are only doing what a small claims court would force them to do anyway based on the durability (or lack of) their product under the Sales of Goods Act.

So what's the difference between 3rod and 1rod? xbox still don't work so surely it would still show lack of durability?

The drive went knackered in one of mine, unreadable disc error, phoned up M$, told em i had RROD, sent it back & they repaired it no problem, the letter i got back with the 360 said they had changed the drive & the motherboard, 1 month of live free also. Get em phoned up mate.

1 Red light is normally dvd drive error or GPU error.

Well I told my mate about it weeks back... He'd borrowed a mate's xbox so only just got round to it now he's had to give it back... He cooked it in a towel for about 10 mins and the thing started working again... Then it popped... cooked it for a little longer... popped... cooked it some more... It's still only going 1RL but cooking it seems to temporarily fix it...

I've read that sooner or later it should give up the ghost completely... I think he'll be sending it back some time after that coz he's loving gears 2 a little too much to send it back until it's proper dead lol
