thanks for that but still cannot get internet to work ie vodafone live
When you say it doesn't work, do you mean you don't get proper content formatting? or that you can't connect
If you get what appears to be a couple of lines of text it will be down to the fact that they don't recognise the device. Also, the settings for contract and PAYG are different for Vodafone
as far as i no i have not subscribed to vodafone life, i think it down to the settings but like most nokia phone i have had before i no rougly how to change the settingsthis phone it all worded different than before
Ok, call vodafone and check GPRS is enabled on the sim, If it its go into connections and use the info below to create a connection.

There are two things to make sure of first as already said
a) The SIM is data enabled
b) You have the right PAYG settings (as VF use different ones for the APN for contract and PAYG)
Prepay Customers should use pp.vodafone.co.uk for the WAP APN
Even with these Vodafone Live will probably not recognise the 5800XM at the moment as they haven't launched it, they read the device User Agent string when it requests the homepage to format the content, all you will get is a couple of lines of text for devices that they don't recognise.
But you would still be able to browse the normal internet e.g put google in and see if it displays the page properly
hi there over the weekend dont no what i have done but i have got a page up for vf saying for first time user that cant seam to go any further with it just tried google manage to get that up
Its due to the reason i mentioned. As the device isn't in the Vodafone UK portfolio yet (UK launch for 5800 is January) you won't be able to get Vodafone Live content properly.
The reason for this is that they don't setup the backend until its been tested and the device is nearly ready for launch. your paying the penalty for having the device early unfortunately
thanks for that will wait till next year for the correct settings thanks again
You won't have to change anything as the settings are right on the device, once the Vodafone live portal supports the device it will appear automatically
