Can you help?

Can anyone help?
I have just chipped a version 1.5 Xbox with an apple x mod chip and have got a prob.
When I turn it on it turns itself on and off three times then the eject button flashes red and yellow, there is no picture on the telly or anything!
I tried taking off the chip, but it does the same :nowords:
Any ideas people?
I have done loads off chips but this one has got me stumped, I have checked the mobo for splashes and damage but cant find any probs.

the red/amber error is a funny one and not really well documented, there is a fix on the xbox scene forums but its not 100%

i did a chipping a while back and it worked fine, i left the room and came back a few mins later to find the machine had locked up, upon reset it does the red/amber flash....and youll be glad to hear...thats what it still does now, i gave up tryin to fix it after so long and accepted it was fubar

with mine it was bad connections, i just re did all the connections and it fixed it.

I have tried all the connections and stuff.
I have even took the chip off and checked all the connection points.
All look good.
Cant find a thing wrong

has the chip got any bios on it ?

I got two chips at the same time and chipped both xbox's together.
One with no probs.
The other one i just got the on and off three times and the flashing red and orange eject button when i powered on.
I thought it must be i dodgy chip so i took it out, but still the same when i powered on. I have checked the connections, checked for mobo damadge or solder splashes but cant find a thing

Any idea's?

Youll probably find they havent even got cromwell bios installed.

But even if i remove the chip the Xbox will not power on.
It just does the same.
on and off three times then flashes red and orange.

That means youve got a soldersplash somewhere crossing two traces or you may have lifted a pad.

Think i will strip it down again and have another look mate.

Also check nothing is earthing out on metal casing .

Malty should be able to help you if it needs a repair.

Yeah i had this a long while ago, still flashing after taking chip out and it WAS a solder splash on the board, the thing is i had looked over the board very carefully and still missed it, sent it to me chippin m8 and he found it straight away.

Also i had it with my green xbox, each of the connections looked solid, turned out just 1 wasnt on right, so i re-did it and it worked fine, if u cant fix it m8 try maltloaf as 4me2 suggested, here is his site http://www.console-fix.co.uk/catalog/index.php

Going to have another look today.
Will post back and let you know if i find anything.
If i cant find anything i will get in touch with maltloaf and see what he says.

I've been messing around with this motherboard for another 4 hrs and cant find anything :nowords: ,I have took the chip back off then back on tried the alternative do point and everything still the same

Cheers for you help, sorted it out.
It turned out to be a small crack in one of the LPC tracks.
Could not see anything wrong at first.
Just followed the track and found the next place i could solder a connection to bridge the damadge in the track.
Re-installed the chip and booted up first time

Thought i had f 'ed up a brand new Xbox :whistle.
But is ok now, fully samsunged up now :thumbs.
