Is their anyway I can play MKVs which are stored locally on my Samsung S4 to a Chromecast?
I've tried the below apps on my S4 and all I get is picture with no sound:

Are they DTS or AC3 audio, if so they are unsupported by chromecast?
Grab plex server, install it on a PC, grab Plex for android and install it on your phone. Play your videos through plex (which will transcode the video/audio on the fly) and voila sorted.

Get the beta version of chromecast software (use google to find it). This will cast anything on your screen to your TV.
I use MX Player and able to stream these to the TV.
Plex wont work for me when I try this? Plugged my chromecast in to my projector?
plex. takes a minute or two to buffer with on the fly serving to the chromecast.
