2.25PM CHELTENHAM – STEEL PLATE AND SECTIONS NOVICES’ CHASE
URBAN HYMN was a good novice hurdler last season, winning two of his first three starts, including a Grade Two at Doncaster. He has a pointing background and has always promised to be a better chaser than hurdler and although his chase debut was over a trip short of his best, he ran well to finish second to Duke Of Navan at Carlisle, finishing well clear of the rest. With that run under his belt and over this longer trip, I expect him to run a big race and make the most of the weight he received from the top two. It is a hot race, but he has a lot of potential and in a race that is often won by a future start, he looks the most likely to go on to big things.
3.35PM CHELTENHAM – GLENFARCLAS CROSS COUNTRY STEEPLE CHASE
horses that take to these fences often run well again and again and BALTHAZAR KING is a prime example. He has won seven times already over fences at Cheltenham and his record over the cross country fences is three from five, He also ran a blinder to finish second in the Grand National and on his last run, put up a good performance to win in France. All in all he is a class act and although there are some fair horses in opposition, I expect him to win.
