New Poltergeist Reboot Trailer Sneaks In
The first trailer for the new take on Poltergeist arrived back in February, offering the first proper look at the new family being bothered by some pesky supernatural troublemakers. Here’s the latest promo, which brings some new footage.

This time around, the focus is on the Bowen family, dad Eric (Sam Rockwell), mum Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt) and kids Kendra (Saxon Sharbino), Griffin (Kyle Catlett) and Madison (Kennedi Clements), the latter of whom becomes the main focus of supernatural attention. Moving into a suburban home, they discover it needs a bit more than just a coat of paint and some new furniture: it’s also linked to the spirit world through a variety of portals.

With director Gil Kenan wrangling the haunting action, this new film also features Evil Dead duo Sam Raimi as the producers, looking to ramp up the madness. Can overcome the natural suspicion that floats around reboots like an evil mist, and triumph? Only time will tell but the movie will be out on May 22.

Look, I love the original - it is and always will be a classic. But this reboot looks fucking awesome, can't wait.
Re: New Poltergeist Reboot Trailer Sneaks In
Yes it does and I hope it lives up to the trailer..
If remakes are made to better but pay homage to the original, then its all gravy...
But when they are made to just milk the brand, then no thanks.

I can't get excited by this. Poltergeist is an 80's classic but this just looks full of cliche's. Scary clown dolls, kids who have scary faces when they turn around, people being dragged around by unseen forces, built on a graveyard etc. I'd have been more impressed if the trailer didn't show you everything too.

i guess you aint seen the original ?
Re: New Poltergeist Reboot Trailer Sneaks In
Of course I've seen the original! It's one of my favourite films. It was the first proper horror film I saw, on a dodgy pirated VHS. I guess I would have been around 8 or 9 when I first saw it and I've lost count of the amount times I've seen it since. But back then it was original. Why bother remaking something if you're just going to rehash the major scenes with some CGI thrown in? The film makers are just trading off the Poltergeist name and deep down you all fucking know I'm right! Having said that, I'll still probably go and watch it.

Re: New Poltergeist Reboot Trailer Sneaks In
Loved the original and any horror film that gives a nod to a classic is worth a watch in my opinion.
Re: New Poltergeist Reboot Trailer Sneaks In
I loved the original and I know I will like this.
have you ever asked one of your kids to watch an 80s classic with you,
yeah it was good back in the day and now, well not so good, then look over at your offspring..
that's right, the ones who are sniggering and looking at you in disgust for making them sit down to watch that pile of shit..
new generation need a new movie, you are old, get over it.
cant wait to see this, hope it makes me jump a lot.

Has anyone else seen this yet? I'll accept your apologies now. It's rubbish.
