used to be 24/7 then went to whenever I'm at home and awake now is just on for quick e mail check, web surfing and when i need to do work
I got a win2k server thats on 24/7, I have a win98 machine that is only on to write cd's and for scanner use and I have a winXP workstation that is on for at least 8 hours a day for work, surfing etc.
I have a machine that shares my internet connection which is on 24/7 and my PC in my room is on pretty much 24/7 too. I sometimes turn it off when I go to bed, but recently I have been leaving it on.

have main xp machine on 24/7 other comps in the house share internet connection through it longest it's been on is a month solid
the only time it's turned off is when the missus has been using it
i don't know why she has to turn it off she's been told not about 500 times
If I'm up then it's on...
Quite often 24/7 though for xnews or similar..
It's on 24/7 and has been pretty much since I got cable 12 months ago :)
only when im awake cause i cant sleep with it on :D
2 pcs both on xp in my room allways on mine is nerver switched off the other is a bit noisy so sum times it gets switched off and the 1 downstairs nerver off the 1 in my room has the adsl ics to the others
if i switch the home machine on it stays on till sleep time (its a bit noisy) but i dont leave it on for any reason other than im lazy and dont switch it of (its not as if i can leave i tdownloadin stuff, its only got an 8 gig drive nad after xp and the proggies i need fro work theres about 1 gig left).
theres always about 3 on in our house, does anyone know how much energy they use? must be quite alot.
I think that CRT monitors use loads of electricity so they get turned off after 10 mins of inactivity.
how about an extra option theres an off button?
Mines on usualy 24/7 exept the odd night or 2 a month.
mines on most of the time, but i cant sleep when its on so i dont have it on 24/7

nokia, did you manage to sort out your problem with the trade you did? either way you should post an update in swap shop so we know if the guy you traded with is safe to deal with or not.
