Re: First Quadrocopter...
Hi
I believe you cannot legally fly them in cities or built up areas and the law is tightning up severly due to ped0's stalking kids and perverts looking in bedroom windows etc.I believe a licence is required for a lot of uses now apart from in middle of nowhere.

So long as your sensible in a wide open spaces and not hovering over a Nuclear Submarine Facility or perving on the neighbours, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Re: First Quadrocopter...
I have the DJI FC40 and love it.
Took a little time to get to grips with how to fly it at first. Had a few scary moments in the beginning. But would defo recommend one.
I have now bought a gimbal and a new GoPro Hero 3+ to replace the 720 camera but the 720 is fit for the job.
Unfortunately not had time to fit the gimbal yet.
EDIT: Would be great fun flying off the top of the deck.
Re: First Quadrocopter...
I wouldnt be able to fly it off the ship due to a few reasons... The radar from the ship would no doubt interfere and fuck up the radio signal
and also, due to H&S and helicopters flying around / Oil platforms, I would no doubt be sacked on the spot...

http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/NewProductImages1/4147.jpg
The advert says:
We have put together a kit bundle of all you need to get yourself going in the world of flying your GoPro camera! Once assembled you will be able to live stream your GoPro's footage to the 7" montior giving you the perfect FPV, first person view.
This kit includes a better quality monitor, Tx transmitter and antennas. This will result in a clearer and better image as well as a bigger streaming range.
This kit includes the following;
- Phantom 2 with H3-3D Gimbal
- Lilliput 7" HDMI FPV Monitor Kit, including Hahnel Universal Charger and E6 battery
- LCE FPV Trans Monitor Mount
- Action Case DJI Phantom 2
- ImmersionRC 600mW Tx transmitter
- ImmersionRC Spironet Antenna
Please note; some soldering is required with the ImmersionRC Tx to the Phantom. Do not power up the Phantom with out the antenna on the Tx as this could potentially damage the transmitter chip.
The ImmersionRC TX may require a license to operate, please check with local amateur radio authorities.
BOLLOX, misses going to go nuts cos I said it was complete ready to fly.
