Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
errr... dental work. The dental work in HK is meant to be excellent and cheap. Well compared to Japanese prices anyway.

Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
was not aware it had reached HK yet, but thought it would do real soon.
I thought it only effected certain species for some reason??
I better read up on that.

Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
All over China... loads of people are popping off to chicken heaven.... I can't suggest anything else to buy.... moody watches, copied games and movies. The piracy is so bad in HK that they have closed down all the Blockbuster video shops... not because people are hiring the films and copying them, but due to the fact it's cheaper to buy a copy then to rent the film... hahahaha
I guess you could buy some mobile phones.... not too sure if the system is the same as the uk. We have tons of brilliant phones in Japan and I am sure I could make a fortune but... totally different system... none of the phones have sims here... everything is internal.
So there you have it... dental work, moody goods and cheap phones.... welcome to Hong Kong the gate way to the oppressed country loving known by it's citizens as HELL or as some might call it... China :D

Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
mobile phone items are extremely cheap down there like the sony's bluetooth car and bluetooth handsfree kits. nearly half price. digital cameras are also extremely cheap. my mate went there about 4 months ago. im planning to head there soon for the summer. great place!

Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
Ah yes me and another member of the forum was looking into Bluetooth kits for the English market... Now it's illegal to use your phone in the car without a hands free kit. Bluetooth car kits would be a brilliant thing to buy.... I am sure there is money to be made there... Bluetooth is extremely unpopular in Japan... Companies prefer other data transfer systems which are faster.... Sony doesn’t even put Bluetooth on their latest phones here... Good idea from Joey!
Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
Thanks.
sorry to drag this up again, would there be any point in me getting PC parts there, Im thinking HD's and does anyone know the deal with customes? as i was also thinking a flat screen moniter is there a site or info somehwere on a (erm) site listings of quatities money wise.
Could try and copnvice is a poratbel light table, now theres an idea (i wont use)

Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
I don't know what you want people to say.... The only way we can find out if things are cheaper in HK is by looking on the internet... A job I am sure you could do yourself.
Computer equipment is cheap in Japan... I got myself a 300GB Maxtor HDD for about 180 Quid. Customs see you with a suit case full of HDD they are not going to let you walk by without paying! Come on mate use your nogging. (head)
Re: Going to HK Purchasing Advice please
I am not simply going to get a load of HD's, i was asking about 1. TFT, and HD's in general. There is an upper limit on spending for all countries, for the US it used to be only £120 yet on the good old customes site they do not seem to have this info (not that i can find anyhow). There might have even been a customes worker here.
All i needed to know was a small fact like that about HD's, meaning i can take that little bit extra money when i go.
I certainly was not looking for others to search for me, but guessed with the types of people here and posts such things would be known straight off, i am often the first to say google it.
I have since got a reply elsewhere saying electrics are much cheaper there more expensive in the shops but better to get there than of the street, so now i can simply take extra spending for an HD at least.
Some of the exploration i tried to do was proving to be difficult for me to understand after i had installed the character fonts. I simply could not naviagte as i do not understand the language.
Thanks for your help, cheers.....Q
