Mobile phone battery first charge?
Should the first charge on an SPV e200 (And all electrical devices) be a full one (ie maximum charge time neccesary to have full charge) before it can be used and can it not be played with as its charging?
Cheers, this is especially important for a phone such as the SPV e200 which apparently has poor battery life anyway.
Re: Mobile phone battery first charge?
I've always ignored the first charge rule, I'll put my sim in and start using a phone straight away whilst charging - where's the fun in having to wait for a new toy to charge before playing with it ;)
Re: Mobile phone battery first charge?
Thats what I wanna do, but I figure if its on and being used while charging then it isn't getting the full charge :s
Re: Mobile phone battery first charge?
hi bud.
always give new batterys there full charge, i do it x4 the first 4 charges.
the reason is that the nicad batts ect, the work on a chemical reaction.if the reaction is not the full time its like shotening the life of the battery.
could u imagine that everytime u started ur pc u lost about 100 meg..
thats what happens to the shirt charged batteries in ur phone ect..
Re: Mobile phone battery first charge?
How often do people find their batteries don't last the life time of the phone (through charging, nothing else e.g. going for a swim in a pint) ?
I'd thought all the batteries have already gone through a few charges at the end of manufacture anyway, the guidelines are just saying charge it fully so you don't just plug it in and expect the phone to work - stupid people alert ;)
It'd be very difficult if you wanted to claim a battery was fully charged to use in the phone and then something went wrong due to that.
Besides this is academic now, a battery takes sod all time to charge compared to what it used to do and porthos is probably using the phone anyway ;)
(if only I kept my notes from my course at uni (BEng in energy engineering) I'd be able to dig out proper proof :)
