Just how bad is this Deal ?

I live in Hull. There is 1 choice for broadband, impossible to go anywhere else. Hull has it's own, privately owned phone network and no cable (the local council part owned the network and so the lack of planning permission for cable providors is completely co-incidental) ;)

They currently offer this BB service:-

Full install = £150
DIY install = £65
Modem = £85
Per month (1gig a day limit d/l) = £28.99
Per month (no limit) = £38.99

Now I realise I can buy a cheaper ADSL modem but the other prices are set.

Their service is set at 50 kbps which I know is slow (thanks Maccy).

Can I just have some comment on how crap a deal this really is so I can make me feel worse than I already do.

Um, that's very slow. Slower than, say, a 56kbps modem? :p:

50k per second dirtyfrog - a 56k gives around 5k per second

Yes I can confirm your deal is crap - Its a pity Hull is using its monopoly in such a silly way - you only alternative may be BT satelite but the install costs on that are huge

if you read bt's terms and conditions on there latest offerings ( it looks the same as your being offered ) the 1 gig a day limit is written in so unfortunatly this looks as if there doing this nation wide
