Is there a way to stop a digital camera showing as portable device and just show as a

Is there a way to stop a camera showing up as a portable device when I plug it in.
Instead I would like it to show as a normal hard drive in my computer?
Unfortunatley the drivers are in a .exe file which just connects to the internet and downloads them.

What exactly are you trying to do here? See pics from camera? There's plenty of software that will do that and view the cam live. I can't think of anŷ reason to have it mounted as a drive.
