After a bit of advice for a friend.
I'm a bit out of touch on repair costs etc. but a friend is asking:
"I'm just wondering if to change a Cam Belt I need to have the whole water filter etc. changed with it? I've been quoted £280 for my Picasso
"
She thinks it could be a bit steep? And does the water filter things need changing as well?
Re: After a bit of advice for a friend.
Think the water filter replacement would require a cambelt replacement so they usually recommend doing it at the same time.
Re: After a bit of advice for a friend.
Water filter?? I thought it was the Water Pump and Cam Belt that is recommended to be changed at the same time? :D
Re: After a bit of advice for a friend.
Cheers guys, does the price seem average for that sort of job? Like I say, I haven't a clue myself these days.
Re: After a bit of advice for a friend.
Depends of petrol/diesel, but sounds somewhere near ish, lets have a guess.
roughly working on averages
timing belt kit 80.00
water pump 25.00
lab 3 hours 117.00
anti freeze/coolant 12.00
+vodka and tonic 46.80
total 280.80
