Hit a fookin pothole the other night.
So the other night pitch black down my way driving at about 40 or just below.
all of a sudden bang!!! Hit a fooking pothole big bastard too.
Now the next day missus was driving and bang she had a blowout with all the kiss in in the car.
She called the rac who gave an eta of 2 1/2 hours  woman and kids on dual carriageway too!
A new tyre £54 later and now there's a knocking noise on the steering.
is there anything I can do like claim via council? or do I have to just pay out for a repair.
if I can claim how do I go about it?

Re: Hit a fookin pothole the other night.
have a look on your local council website thats what i did kept the damaged tyre to show them had to meet them where it happened they didnt pay full price for tyre they look to see how much wear there was and paid a percentage of cost i think i got half the cost of a new tyre which was better than nothing.
Re: Hit a fookin pothole the other night.
Write to them.
get back there and take measurements, ideally with a tape measure in the photos showing width and depth.
the council will have a department dedicated to insurance claims.
also consider making a request under Eir/foi for supporting evidence

Knocking could be bent rim?
Re: Hit a fookin pothole the other night.
Oooohhh, that's a classic reflective crack failure yum yum yum.
As above, depth is important. If you can, get a photo with a tape against it.
You won't be the only one claiming on that fucker.
Re: Hit a fookin pothole the other night.
It will be a track rod end most lightly . I got told to get someone to report the pothole to the council and then the next day
you report the damage to your car ,get pics off the hole with something in it to get the perspective a can of coke or something.

Re: Hit a fookin pothole the other night.
Had this earlier this year. Went direct to the coucil on the phone. They sent me a claim form.
Managed to get them to pay for all repairs, but make sure to keep all receipts.
My council only paid for the repairs I could prove were connected to the pothole damage. Make sure NOT to repair it yourself.
Less than a week later, the pothole was filled.
This was my bitching post on here.
I put a CD next to it when I tried to show comparison...
