Great fun, I have the rs4 rally but savage is bigger and better, I know a lad that fractured his ankle bone from one hitting him so take care [emoji85]

Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
I have a nitro in my loft but it's a focus wrc and won't run on grass :(
i have only run the bloody thing about three times since new as there's never been anywhere big enough to use it.
i got mine probably 12 years + from modelsport.
now it looks like I'm going to be investing in one of these bad boys :D
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
Grass burnout videos please, I wanna see that bad boy do some doughnuts :D
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
I had a few nitros. Now I have a 1:8 Caster Fusion EX-1 electric buggy. Does around 50mph and no fiddling with tuning the engine. Also have a 1:10 Team Associated TC5 electric touring car that I raced - got a 2nd place in my group in my first real race at the old Silverstone RC track. Also have a 1:5 scale Baja that runs on 2 stroke and is INSANE!! I ran a company for a while selling RC cars and accessories and was quite successful - the mark up on the prices is mad though. Thinking about selling all my stuff now as I don't get the time to run them - although took the buggy out last week for a bit.
Check out the MSUK forums for regular meetups and local groups. Had plenty of fun with the MSUK lot and helped organise North London Bashers for a while. ALways a good, fun day out.
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
Iv had a few my self , mugen mbx buggy and rb concept gt4 .
got an old cen in the loft and a tamya fighter buggy.
in case the kids ever take an interest .
just watch out for high kerbs as the kill rc cars .lol
and if your going to play on a bmx track , then make sure the battery is really secure .

Talking of BMX tracks :

Did about £150 worth of damage on this run (Well mostly it was my son lol)
And here's another vid from a few years back
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr2DxjEjFbo
Got some sick air with our homemade ramp :)
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
Done a bit of damage to my mbx when i was playing on a table top ramp.
had it landing like a cat on the down ramp .
so got a bit adventurous and gave it full steam.
The buggy over shot the ramp , battery dislodged
, so I'm holding the controller above my head , trying to gain control
And running after it . It then runs in to long grass that slows it down a bit , goes under the fence onto the road .
takes of like a built hits the kerb on the opposite side and ends up stuck half way up a bush , still running full speed , with the
exhaust ripped off .
It got to the stage it was costing more to fix that my real car . Good fun but .

The first vid was my caster fusion ex1. Based on a Mugen MBX5 chassis.

Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
29cc. I have some vids somewhere will dig them out.
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
Nice one bob , is the buggy in the first vid electric ?
might buy a new toy in the summer and as you say all the messing about with bumper boxes and tuning the thing get tiresome , how long is the run time ?
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
Yeah. Runs off two 2 cell lipos. Can run at 6 cell for even more speed though. I know a few people that ran at 8 cell!!! Stupid fast and uncontrollable.
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
Thx mate , I'll look into it .
Re: mid life crisis just bought a hpi savage x4.6 remote controlled car
lol, mid life crisis. I think the purchase of a remote controlled car is more like a 'mid life purchase' or 'mid life blowout'....or at worst, 'mid life funny five minutes'.
If you could come back to us when you've bought a full size sports car, or procured yourself a nubile 20 year old blonde...then we can talk crises :P
