Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
Just out of interest I post this.
I was one of those people who has been many many times, year after year without fail, now since 2011 I have never managed to get a ticket. In fact, all of my extended network now does not get a ticket, I have done a review and I am talking like 20 people who would individually try and of course out of me, have other trying friends.
How does this work, I am not confident this is a simple first come first served. The only piece of satisfaction is that tickets no longer come up on eBay for 4x the amount.
A conversation piece, after all, since going some 12 times I wonder how I am still not present.
Cheers.....Q
Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
Me & my mates tried in earnest to get some for last year. In sync on Sunday morning we all had a go, I had a desktop, a laptop and a mobile phone (calling, well trying to) for a triple attack. Didn't even connect to their website or phone line and yet people on Twitter were saying they had got some. I sat there trying until Twitter said all tickets were sold out. I felt like a right mug and should have just stopped in bed. I couldn't understand how the website worked for others but not for me or any one of my mates.
We spent the money on going to benidorm to get wankered instead.

It's been so commercialised all the Tweenies and posh twats get them.

I am trying for the resale this year, I was at a job when they went on sale first time round. Last year I went as bar staff which was decent as you have a quiet campsite and showers etc. but I was on the overnight shift most nights. If I can't get tickets I will try to work it again.
I don't know how the queuing works on these sales though, Radio 1 Big Weekend is similar because it's free.
Do do you know how thoroughly they check the photo on the tickets?

Can you not hop over a fence anymore?

They are 15ft high.
Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
2000 was last year for that and it collapsed - since that they majorly beefed up security.

As mentioned the fence issue, they were forced to get in better security. I never saw any attempts and if it is proved there is a breach they stand a much more serious chance of loosing their license going forward. They have also made moves that you need to show your car park and gate ticket before getting into the car park.

I used to panic about the photo, I had a clean face for the registration and then promptly grew a beard for months. Never had an issue. They make more effort to ensure the wrist bands are properly on, in ye older times, you used to be abel to slip it of, walk out and circle around. But, again, even if that is a possibility, without a ticket (and I know that's not what you are asking) it is much harder to get anywhere near the gate.

Ive had that, but then a friend managed to get through and buy. Since the change, I have never managed on the phone and only twice on the net, all other times have been friends getting through separate from me and either then adding me to their lot, or sending me the direct link to the form.

I had been noticing a change in the types of people going, but overall, I disagree, there were still the nature loving earth people in thier droves chilling out in different alcoves of the festival.

Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
There is so much more to Glasto than the music.
I tried for the resale tickets last year and was successful in the first 30 secs.
It was a top 5 days but the following week after becomes a little emotional.
Even though i cannot remember much.
I didn't attempt for tickets this year but 2 of my mates did and they was successful.
As soon as they got there's i started to feel i was missing out on summat so i am attempting the resale on the 189th again.
Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
I managed to get a ticket the last 4 times its been on, but this year was the first time I was the one to get the tickets. I work in IT and had over 12 (different) connections to seetickets and didnt even get close, it was actually my mam that got through on her laptop with 1 connection. looks like total luck of the draw :(
Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
I got through on the resale.
buzzing for it now
Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
I'm so fucked off, I got through, it accepted my reg details, entered payment info and clicked to process it then it said they sold out whilst taking payment. It's a ridiculous booking system, it's powered by see tickets so they have actually recoded the site to disable the reservation feature when you get through for the sole purpose of making headlines on how quickly they sell out.
Looks like I might be working there instead...
Re: Glastonbury Ticket - What does it take now?
Between me and my mates we have tried 4 times and have got tickets every time.
We are all on virgin media 100mb connections though
