LighterLife diet journal.
Evening all,
Tomorrow sees the start of an 8 week "total abstinence" diet on the Lighterlife diet program for me.
If I stick to the plan, which is complete meal replacement packs, I will have only 4 of these packs a day along with 2-4 litres of water and thats my lot. After 8 weeks I will have lost between 4 or 5 stone.
As a way of documenting my "journey" I'm going to use this thread to let people know how i'm going on and how easy or dificult it is.
I'll update this every few days and I'll let you know how much I lose each week.
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
Good luck with it Russ, I could do with losing a lot so will follow you on this one to see how you get on ;)
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
Good luck mate.
4 or 5 stone in 2 months though? Is it really possible to manage that in a healthy way?

I'm 5'7 and 19 1/2 stone mate, so i'm a fuckin barrel and have plenty to lose.
as far as the healthy way to do it, my doctor has been on this diet and sings its praises to anyone who will listen and I had a medical the other day and I've been approved to do it. The first 3-4 days are meant to be a right shit, but once you go into "ketosis" then you don't even feel hungry and the weight just falls off. The packs are nutritionally balanced so you get all the vitamins and what have you so its all perfectly safe. There are a few possible side-effects like bad breath, the odd headache and in very rare cases, gallstones.
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
What's in the packs then, do they taste good?
Sounds intruiging...but I assume you're not allowed to go on a weekly 10-pint binge?
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
Plus....sure I saw a pic of you on here once, and you looked way younger than 57???

Re: LighterLife diet journal.
i've said in other threads on here that i'm a large guy im 6'2 with a large frame, and on june 15th last year i was 30 stone 5 lb as of wednesday just gone (20/05/2009) i was 21stone 10 lb (everyone asks if iv'e had the gastric band lol)
so good luck russ hope all goes well!
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
big question m8 is how much is it costing u???
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
It costs £66 a week for all the foodpacks, which sounds a lot but isnt that bad when you consider the fact that you are given all your food for the week in it. You need to buy a fair bit of water as well though (that is if you don't drink the shite from the tap, which I don't!) they do also sell these flavourings to add to water to try and vary it a little.
The soups available are: chicken, mushroom, thai chilli, tomato and vegetable and are very similar to cup-a-soup sachets. The shakes are: banana, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. There are some chew bars and porridge too. Tastewise I haven't had any yet so couldn't say. I'll let you know as I go though.
LittleBilly, how did you lose your weight?
and no Flump, you can't have any booze, no ordinary food, not even chewing gum. Its not called "total abstinence" for nowt!! :p
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
This sounds interesting, good luck to ya.
You should start a photo journal but after the first week don't look at the first photo, then at the end take another. Make yourself feel good about yourself.
What's the excersise like on this?
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
i Have 2 piecis of toast with jam or lemon curd and a cup of tea or a 30g bowl of cereal, for dinner i have a ham salad sandwich and a packet of crisps and pretty much anything for tea! (last night had 65 grams boiled rice chicken curry and half a naan bread, in between just drinking no added sugar squash or just flavoured water :cool2:, if i'm peckish on a night i have 2-4 crackers with light spread (flora or summat simalar) around 8:30-9:00, in the first 2 weeks i lost 12 lb and like i said before iv'e dropped from 30 plus stone and wearing 6xl shirts to 21 stone 10lb and 2xl shirts (i carry it well though because im pretty tall)

I know its unrelated... but this one statement really worries me. In this country, the quality and continuity throughout the country of the water we have flowing from our taps is absolutely amazing. Please don't for one second believe that just because you've bought water in a bottle, that it is better quality. It isn't. Quality issues with bottled water range from unacceptable baterial levels through to unhealthy mineral content. I would strongly suggest to anyone that regularly buys bottled water to stop and buy a high quality water filter, refridgerate and use tap water. The money you'll save will be significant and you'll also be doing your body a favour.
Re: LighterLife diet journal.

Re: LighterLife diet journal.
A mate of mine lost 3 stones in 3 months with. Seems expensive to me but good luckwith it matey.
Re: LighterLife diet journal.
Can't you just eat porridge / soup and drink water and save yourself the money - all this seems to be is a low calorie diet . . .
If it works for you then fair enough but it does seem like a bit of a rip off
