Villa Vs Wolves that Sunday, just hope we can get back on track
Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
If they dropped their prices maybe more people would subscribe?
Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
Nothing wrong with the prices as it is, quality programming. If they charged £9.99 for the full package they would have no money in the pot to do what they have.
Worth every penny if you ask me.

I'd imagine twice as many would subscribe if it was half the price, therefore they'd lose nothing.
I certainly would.

Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
Ok
Currently have 10 million customers
Drop price by half
Customers grow to 15 million
Sky now have 50% less profit to manage an extra 5 million customers
Programming quality goes down drain
15 million customers complain
Sky put prices back up
Back to square one

Maybe the premium channels may be worth the money they charge, but for the basic pack which is just a glorified freesat with the very good sky+, I believe it's very expensive. If the freeview/sat channels had no charge then a fee for sports/movies/documentaries etc were fair priced add-ons then it would be worth the money. I can't afford more than the basic package at £20+ and with the cost of broadband, line rental and phone calls, and am now looking into freesat and another isp. Sky 1, 2 and 3 are shocking! The only thing i'll be gutted to miss is the new Ricky Gervais programme.
As with all current subscribers, I lose out on good offers that new subscribers get, like £24 for the full monty. That pisses me off:pissed:
On a positive note, the open day is miles better than the ESPN one last week! UFC is brilliant but wasn't shown on there open day as was prem football:sarcastic:

As im a paying customer, i wonder if they are going to re-emburse me a days subs??????:pissed:
Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
But just imagin if Ford sold a car 5 years ago for £5,000 and today the same car was £3,000.
Would you go back to Ford and say you want the same deal, no and its the same with Sky.
Regardless if a new customer gets a better deal, you had your chance when you first signed up and you cannot expect a company to give everyone a cracking deal can you.
If that was the case they would not be in business today.

Can't agree mate, if the package was cheaper i'd subscribe, and so would thousands of others, but in the current economic climate, many people are cutting back, like i did.

Correct :)
Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
Again Sky have 10 million customers and growing so 10 million customers cant be wrong can they but if you cant afford the package like if you cant afford a certain car so be it.
If come new customers get a special deal like half price packages for 12 months then so be it, its just how the cookie crumbles.
Just some people complain about the same thing, to expensive, I want thus at so much a price, why is he getting it cheaper than me.
I hear this everyday and I see it from both sides of the coin but Sky are not at fault, they are providing the package and the deals and if people miss out or cant afford it so be it.
Lifes hard some days and we all have to just grit our teeth and get on with life.
Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
On on the 26....
Atlanta @ New Orleans
Indianapolis @ Denver
Re: Sky sports open day Sunday 26th September
American football? Wolves vs Villa? What a great way to showcase your channel :arf:
I can afford the top package no problem but would only be interested in watching the big games in the Prem or ECL, for that I'm not willing to pay £9.99 a month or whatever it is for a one off game per month or two, but I wouldn't mind paying a fiver for it so much.
The thing that pisses me off regarding pay-to-view channels like sky sports and sky movies are ADVERTS. The channels you pay a fortune for are fucking swarming with ads. The BBC don't show any because your licence fee pays for the programming. ITV is free because it is paid for by ads. Sky get it both fuckin ways. Greedy cunts they are.

Brian you are working too hard as a salesman which shows your clear bias. :na:
