help making a decision...

so im getting some tax money back soon and need help deciding what to spend it on... i have 2 options...

Im currently in the process of putting together a cinema room in my house, and the money would pay for the following below in order to complete the room, basically everything i need to get it all up and running....

My other option is to spend some cash on a new laptop (�1500) and a gaming monitor to go with the tower i built last year (�500). My current laptop is starting to show signs that it is struggling to play the latest games, and i can get a decent laptop for 1500, specifically : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

I havent looked at gaming monitors yet, but i assume you can get a half decent 1080p one for about 500, at the moment my gaming rig is hooked up to a TV which doesnt do the system justice.

What option should i go for? keeping in mind the following, i spend half the year offshore and use my laptop a lot for gaming, but ive also started the cinema room by buying a projector screen and mounting it......

only has a 960m gpu, wheras the one i posted has a Pascal Gtx1060..... no brainer there to be honest

980 which is different league to a 960. Although M versions tend to suck tbh.

Checked out the reviews for the laptop you linked to? Not looking great.

Also what spec is your pc rig? If you only built it last year there are zero reasons it shouldn't cope with today's games, the only thing it may struggle with at ultra is Ashes of Singularity.

the rig i built at home is a full sized �2000 desktop beast which plays every game i throw at it with ease, and when im offshore i take my gaming laptop which is the following:

i7-4710HQ, 12 gb ram, geforce 860m.... so as you can imagine it is no where near my desktop build, and is now struggling with most games.
