    Default Green Tea

Every other twat drinks Green tea instead of normal tea, and people looking to lose weight drink more Green tea than they would otherwise.

What are your guys findings on it? Articles online seem to be heavily mixed.

Does it make a difference to you?
    How much do you have?
Do you drink it, or take extracts?
Do you find you get better results upping general water intake along with your balanced diet?
It is all a myth and just an industry fad?

I've tried a lot of them mate and rightly or wrongly I just compare the taste & satisfaction with normal black tea every time and black tea wins. I'd rather just have something I enjoy. Over the last six months I've used much less milk than I used to but that's more due to me trying to eke some life out of the free PG bags at work. Give me a strong Punjana and I'm happiest.

That's what I'm drinking at the moment, green tea with lemon, lovely stuff.

Does it have any health benefits?

I have been drinking green tea over 10 years now, health benefits are subjective in my opinion and as I can't compare myself now to the me that didn't switch to drinking green tea I really can't say if it has been of benefit or not all I will say is running out of milk is no longer a pain and I would never switch back to normal tea with milk now as I much prefer green tea.

I saw a thing on facebook (so it must be true) where they pulled some green teabags apart, and they all had grubs and insect larvae in them.
I still drink it occasionally, but I'm more a black tea, and coffee drinker.

The benefits of green tea far outweigh any disadvantages. The only real downside is buying cheap crap and it being the sweepings off the floor, or it being contaminated with industrial run off. If you buy a decent organic brand or better still, organic loose leaf, you'll be fine. However, drinking it thinking you are going to lose weight is ridiculous. There is no magic bullet for weight loss, eat less and exercise more. That's the only way to do it.

Here are numerous science based videos/articles about green tea from a very reputable source: http://nutritionfacts.org/?fwp_searc...ent_type=video

Bit of hypocrisy here. Just drinking a lemon & ginger infusion, something I have at work from time to time. Nice. So I haven't exactly abandoned all experiments with various teas.

If you are really looking for health kicks and the flavour of Green Tea then get your self a scoby and start making your own Kombucha.

Used to do this till the scoby died and I just never got around to sourcing another.
It is a living organism that looks like a jelly fish. You can make it in all sorts of containers but I used to use a 5 gallon fermenting bin for beer.
Chuck a load of water in it (bottled ideally) chuck in a load of organic tea bags of whatever flavour you like, sugar (more than you think as the scoby eats it) and leave it to do its funk.
It turns very slightly alcoholic but no more than a can of shandy bass sort of 0.01%

It puts billions of friendly bacteria, amino acids, other acids I forget & vitamins.

Tastes same as tea but drink cold or gently warmed as if you boil it you kill all the goodies.

This just made me think about getting another. Also look into Kefir water or Kefir Milk if you are not avoiding dairy.

    Edit:

    If you are interested. Kombucha

There's looks cloudy but mine was crystal clear.

    Thanks to piggzy

You fucking mad man, that sounds crazy!

I've been supping green tea 3-4 times a day this week. I purposely ate the same meals each day as last week, my weight loss last week, 4.5 lbs, weight loss this week 3.5lbs...my conclusion, it did fuck all for me and more benefit in drinking just water 4-5 litres in 15 hours or so.

    Thanks to BigBrand

Green tea has mixed research findings. Some suggest potential health benefits, including weight management. Personal experiences vary. Drinking green tea or taking extracts may have different impacts. Increasing water intake generally supports a balanced diet. It's not a guaranteed solution, and results may vary. The perception of it as an industry fad exists, but individual responses differ.
