So back from Spain on Tuesday evening, and at work yesterday. Brought the £20 machine home and started to play about with it.

It's a fkin steal for what it is. It looks fine, and it works fine. Does exactly what it is supposed to, essentially the same as a regular entry level Nespresso machine. The water bottle sits 90 degrees to the unit though, which is the only main difference. I had already bought some pods from Tesco, Cafepod #10 (Ristretto). Did a few water tests as the cups I usually make espresso from my mokka pot with are tiny.

First go with the pod resulted in a damn good cup of coffee. I'm far from a snob, with a highly trained pallet, but it was very much to my preference.

I am going to look now at getting one of the refillable pods so I can use up my supplies of Illy grinds.

I think I will also post this in the BST as well, with credit to Malty for spotting it, as for £20 this is a great machine.

Took delivery of some plastic refillable pods at the weekend and gave them a whirl. Honestly, they are a bit messy and its something else to clean. This kind of goes against the point and convenience of having a pod machine IMO.

The pods themselves worked okay. You need to pack the coffee quite a lot to get a decent cup. Not enough and the coffee ends up watery. The will serve a purpose to use up the remaining coffee I have, but I think I will stick to pods and buy them when on offer etc.

I got 5 for £5 of the refillable pods, so was worth a go if anyone wants to try it. I'd say the metal ones will be the same. Bear in mind you will want more than one though, as you will be there all day messing about trying to do four coffees with only one pod!

Seems like too much effort to me to be honest unless there's a specific bean you love. I'm really happy with my nespresso machine and mostly using L'Or and Asda own brand capsules. The milk frother is a revelation though and something must be going right because coffee shop coffee now doesn't really taste that nice whereas before I loved it.

I've been watching this thread as I am looking for something portable for my office. However. my biggest piss off is how long the kettle takes to boil. I will be picking this up when i visit in December (Its $163 cad if bought from england as opposed to $300 + from amazon.ca)

Not sure if you lot have a Coffee Link anywhere in your area but they are doing an Organic Fair Trade bean atm that is really nice, strong and very smooth.
