Default Getting a new ride soon :)

Rather excited. Just laid deposit down on a 16 plate (only has 13.5K miles on it) BMW 440i Gran Coupe M Sport Plus with pretty much all optional extras

3.0L 326Bhp Twin Turbo 6 Cylinder, 8 Speed Automatic sports transmission. Oh it is going to purr and roar!

Will post pics when I get it.

I ordered the special, unlisted add on pack. A man-slave who walks in front with two orange table tennis bats and waves them accordingly . More than can be said for the Peugot 305, Vauxhall Astra and Mercedes SLK that I encountered on my commute to work this morning. All of whom failed to signal on the SAME roundabout one after the other

Here's a few quick mobile phone pics. I did get this car over 2 weeks ago now and just got round to pulling the pics off my phone. Haven't taken anything meaningful with my SLR or Drone yet but planning on a few fun videos and photos.

Loving this car. 326 horses from a 3.0L inline 6. This is FUN FUN FUN.. Need a separate bloody bank balance for the fuel though haha.

That's a lovely motor mate, I used to have an old 3.0l inline 6 twin turbo Toyota - the noises that thing used to make were fantastic.

I didn't realise people were still making i6 engines. What a noise this must make

    That interior is awesome!

What economy are you getting? I'm lucky to get 31mpg in my diesel

    Thanks to reverend

Cheers guys. Yeah Rev, it's a Twin Turbo too. In ECO or Comfort it has a lovely throaty grumble when it's moving itself up through the gears. However when in Sport mode, the exhaust flaps open fully and this goes from the throaty sound to a roar then it howls

Economy wise. To be honest most of the time when I'm in traffic, I'll drop it into ECO modem as there's little point in being in anything else. However on occasion I'll flick up into comfort or sport for an overtake or if I'm at the lights because it's an instant transition from the ECO mode. I can get 30mpg on say a 10 mile commute in traffic with stops at lights.

I've not done a decent run out on a motorway yet but what I have noticed is that due to the 8 speed auto transmission, quite often the MPG is bouncing between 40 and 75mph, especially when it's sat up in 8th gear. I reckon motorway it'll be pretty economical.

BUT, I didn't get that car to be pootling around and crawling away from the lights. I do love a good boost away from the lights and I'm rather eager to get out on the country lanes of Snowdonia / The Lakes and in May, going to the very North coast of Scotland again so I'll really be opening it up then (All within legal expectations of course )

The ironic thing is, my last car (Mondeo Titanium X Sport - 2.2L TD with 200Bhp), around the urban areas, I could barely get over 37mpg average through the month and even on a few hundred miles on the motorway, no more than 45mpg. although I'm averaging at around 28mpg per tank in the BMW, it's far more fun.

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

Not in the same league at all but for a while I had a Landrover 3.9 V8 petrol.
Fuck me I was lucky to get much over 10mpg it was a 1995 model from memory so probably not as eco friendly as newer ones but I remember clenching my arse every time I filled it up.

Ps, here's the stock exhaust sound from a couple of little blips of the accelerator

Will do In fact, in May I will be taking my Annual tour of Scotland.

Edinburgh to Ballater (in the Cairngorms which has loads of sweeping curves, climbs and descents).

Then to Durness on the North Coast (which has some amazing single lane roads from Lairg up to the top)

Then down To Portree in Skye via Ullapool which also has a tonne of awesome driving roads.

From Portree back down via Glencoe to Oban. Then from Oban to home. This is going to be FUN!!!!!

Do you have a list of the option codes?

Only reason I ask is that I know someone not a million miles away from you how might be able to unlock extra features at a much more reasonable cost than the dealer (some of these cars have the hardware for extra options, but this is disabled unless the owner wants to pay for them).

Also wondering if you have the M Performance Power Pack and Sound Kit? A mate had a 435d, I don't think he had the fancy exhaust you have, so I recoded his ASD module to tell it the car was an M4, and suddenly his car engine sounded better (only on the inside though).

I don't have a list of the option codes however I know I can get an ODB adapter and an App that can open up a whole bunch of different options and extras.

My car is an M+ spec but doesn't have the M Performance Power pack and sound kit (that I'm aware )

I'm good with it for the moment but if I want to do some tinkering to see what extra goodies I can get, I'll drop you a PM.

If you put your chassis in this site it should give you a list of options on the car.

Hey SS, no it's standard RWD. Not tried Launch yet as we've not had a fucking dry day since I got it lol. All I know is that in Sport mode when you give it a decent bit of gas and come off it, the exhaust bubbles and pops and even makes a couple of decent loud bangs.

Think I'll wait until around summer time when we're at least guaranteed some decent try and warmer temperature tarmac with less greasy crap all over it to try launch

    Thanks to dpSparhawk

Something I do miss is the noise as mines an oil burner, but that launch is awsome. Ive only done it a few times as im sure it cant be good for the car.
I have also coded a few things using an app called bimmercode and a WiFi adapter. Extended Bluetooth, mirrors folding on lock, open and close tailgate with button in car or keyfob and tyre temps on pressure screen.

    Thanks to Soulassassin
