Hello all,
Looking for some help please.
I am wanting to know best options for connecting a bathroom extractor fan.
The fan is fitted to the wall, via the existing duct that was there. However, the socket that feeds the fan is a permanent live feed. The fan I have doesn't have an off/on switch and required a switch to installed.
As I see if my options are:
1. Install a switch next to the fused socket to feed the fan, requiring manually flicking on every time you shower.
2. Install a pull cord switch next to the fused socket for easier access than option 1, but same issue. (switch would be almost 6 feel high)
3. Channel out above the fan and get into the loft and install into the light fitting for a switch live operation (my preferred method of fan, but more work.
4. Look for another fan that is activated by motion/light/humidity or has a switch on the side of it (not ideal)
Anyone have experience here and can offer me a solution I've not thought of, or confirm I should just do a proper job with option 3?
