Hi
We used to have a boiler upstairs in an airing cupboard but this wi ripped out years ago and we got a combi in the kitchen.
The airing cupboard has been used for very little since however now I want to knock in from the bathroom and turn it into a shower room.
The problem is the old galvanized steel pipes are all in there still (some with cold feeds still active but terminated).
I remember the plumber saying these are bastards as if you start untwisting them usually they undo at joint you didnt want it to unscrew at (as usually rusted together).
So I guess I want to cut these pipes off at floor level and terminate them so can put shower tray over them. If i cut them with hack-saw how do I terminate them so they wont leak? As I guess I am going to have to thread the pipe and them screw cap on without potentially messing with connections further down the pipe?
