If you go to C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther or C:\$Windows.~BT\sources\Rollback is there a file called setuperr.log? It may have a clue as to the problem. In the past encryption and antivirus have caused me troubles upgrading, I've held ff this one for now as they seem to always have teething problems when the new builds are released.

Hmm, in the past Nvidia graphics have caused issues but I'd have expected them to solve that now. I defer the feature updates for at least a month and then install on a test machine a week or two after release in case I need to be aware of any new features or issues for work. Is the issue that it keeps trying and failing and you can't stop it or you want to upgrade but it won't succeed?

I don’t know why they don’t set the default behaviour to delayed updates as every build update has loads of complaints like this!

Last night it downloaded/installed this update again and yes same issue after reboot

Ive disabled updates, but this lasts only 35 days or so, so I guess its a reminder in my outlook to tell me to re-enable
