Help I can't install the recent Win 10 update

I have a little Toshiba Mini Satellite click that I keep in my van. It's not very powerful but it's handy because it's only 9" long and fit's in a little shelf above my head.

I bought it from someone on Gumtree last year and it had Win 8 which I upgraded to the Win 10 mobile version (I think that's what it was called) because I missed the deadline for upgrading the regular version.

I have various software programs on it which I need for my work. It has just under 4GB left on the C drive from a 32Gb hard drive. I have a 32GB SD card installed in the slot which is only using around 4GB of space.

It doesn't have enough space left on the hard drive to install the latest Win 10 upgrade. I was informed it requires 8GB of space which I obviously do not have. A few weeks ago I read (might have been on here) about incorporating my SD card drive into the netbooks hard drive but it was either too complicated for me or it didn't allow me so I gave up.

I have another 2 netbooks which are about 6 months old but I like this little Toshiba and I don't really want to use my newer netbooks out on site.

Do I have any options or am I best retiring the netbook to a drawer?

I had the same issue with a tablet. My solution was to move the page file from the hard drive to the SD card, disable hibernation and run disk cleanup against the system files to remove all the old version of windows.

Do you mean the system clean up command prompt? I tried that last week and it failed for some reason.

move the page file from the hard drive to the SD card, disable hibernation
    How do i do this?

Start - Run - sysdm.cpl - Enter - Advanced - Performance Settings - Advanced - Virtual memory Change - Untick Automatically Manage,... - select drive for Page file.

    Start - Run -
    powercfg.exe /hibernate off - Enter.

Do you need the new update? Build 1803 is causing me no end of troubles, most of which are related to loss of performance. In mos cases I am reverting to 1709 and deferring the feature updates for a year (only possible on Pro versions). If you did need it then you could try moving as much data as you can to the SD, cleaning out all the temp files etc. with CCleaner and running disk cleanup as already mentioned to see what space you're left with.

Whatever you try it wont work unless you got that magic 8 gig of free mem.
I'm stuck on last years feature update as my tablet hasn't enough memory after ive removed everything on there exept the OS
The SD card slot with memory spare is not seen by the update program.

Fuck it I'll just leave it then. I thought I needed to install it but if it's not necessary I'll leave it.

Hold the windows key, press R then type winver into the run box and press enter. If you are on build 1709 then I'd stay there

    And disable any future updates....

Personally on my tablets I have updates off, and only install them if there is a reason to. A security alert or something’s stops working.

theres fucking updates almost weekly so fuck it.
