    Default World cup

No surprises so far concerning qualifications, though they were some early scares. How lucky are Argentina, Spain and Germany.

Come on England, you have to beat the best the win it.

Was quite interesting watching the Belgium game....England really didn't look like they wanted to win.

Colombia are more than capable of beating England. Massive gamble in my opinion. We've got an eye on our quarter final opponents before we've played the second round.

That has always been England's problem, play your best team and try to win every game, don't look to far ahead, remember Iceland?

BTW am i the only one who thinks Japan would have been a bit easier than Columbia?

Of course but it's the match after that, if we beat Columbia we get either Switzerland or Sweden.

If we had come top of our group and beaten Japan then we would be playing Brazil or Mexico, who do you think we would of got?

It really depends on your expectations. We're a mediocre team really and a quarter final is a decent result. No shame in losing to Brazil or Mexico. We could just as easily lose to Sweden or Switzerland.

My expectations of this England team is mixed, good players that could go very far but from what I've seen so far in the first 3 matches I can't see us beating a big team but the longer we are in the competition then they may just start to jell and could possibly beat a big team having a bad day.

Seeing what France did to Argentina and Uruguay did to Portugal today it won't be an easy ride for England.

England aside, it has been an amazing World Cup IMHO. Probably one of the best I have seen!

Agreed, just superb for some of the smaller teams.

Great to see a "good fight" win over the big boys.

Saying that, England won't have a better chance to reach a final IMO, but I just can't see past any teams. Man mark Rodriquez, and we may have a chance. But we still appear very one dimentional.

What happens when Kane, Ali, Linegard don't play well? We've no one else to turn to.

Felt for Japan, always better losing in ET than last min of stoppage time.

So many great stories in this WC, but fuck me some embarassing diving too!

He irritates me but I have never been a football fan or supported a team I just enjoy watching a game so am a long way from being knowledgeable on how everything slots together let alone tactics.

    Thanks to Bald Bouncer
